The Top 5 Wiggles Videos

Growing up, I had Thundercats, Count Duckula and Knightmare to look forward to on the telly. My mum would never let me watch Grange Hill, and I have no idea to this day what Byker Grove was about. But when I was even younger, I probably enjoyed stuff like Watching the Washing Machine and Poking Worms with Sticks. That’s because I don’t really remember what I watched when I was a toddler. I remember the TV broke a fair few times but that was cool as we actually rented it from somewhere, so they always sent a man to fix it. Renting TVs – that can’t be a successful business anymore, can it? Anyway, stop distracting me. So I want to talk about the Wiggles.

Who are The Wiggles?

As we are probably all British, most of you won’t know who the Wiggles are. Think of them like an Australian Singing Kettle. And if you don’t know who the Singing Kettle is, then think of them like a Scottish version of your happy drunk grandparents.

The Wiggles sing songs, some classic lullabyes, some original. My boy loves the Wiggles. And we’re talking about the modern-day kids TV gang, with Anthony, Emma, Lachy and Simon Wiggle. I know they’ve been around longer with an original cast, but nobody knows who they are anymore. Lok, this is who I’m talking about:

So if you’re looking for a new show for your young ‘un, then check them out. Loads of their tracks are available on YouTube, and they even have a show on Netflix which is one of best children’s TV shows going according to me. But here I present before the court my top 5 Wiggles songs (that my boy can’t stop dancing to).

5. The Ants Go Marching In

This is a great one to get the wee ones marching, counting and singing along! It’s also a pretty easy one to learn the words to, making you a rock God in the car.

4. Do The Propellar

This was one of the earliest songs that the Boy started to dance to. Waving his arms like he just don’t care.

3. Taba Naba Style!

This song works well because it’s designed to be danced to sitting down! This will please parents everywhere. The lyrics are in Meriam Mir, from a small island near Australia. You don’t need to know the words, but imagine being able to crack this bad boy open at a party:

Taba naba naba norem
Tugi penai siri
Dinghy e naba we
Miko keimi
Sere naba we
Taba naba norem
Style!

2. The Wonder of Wiggle Town

This is a super song, and was co-written, fact fans, by Ben Elton! Therefore It’s very silly. What else does one need?

1. Rock A Bye Your Bear

This was the first ever song Sam learned to interact with. Clapping hands, turning around, bowing and eventually shouting “LA LA LA LA LA” at the appropriate moment. It’s a classic for a reason! So if you like cute things, then this is the song for you.

43 minutes and 50 seconds of glorious peace and quiet form the young ‘un. These are great songs, engaging and fun for little one. And more than enough time for you to have a poo, make a brew and play on Facebook before some more drama happens. In conclusion: The Wiggles = a win!
