If you’re looking for is the best places to dine on Loch Lomond, you will be spoilt for choice! Loch Lomond boasts not only unrivalled beauty but some super places to eat. And here is our rundown of Loch Lomond Restaurants with our favourite top 5 places to dine. So whether you’re enjoying a holiday on Loch Lomond or a day trip in the area, you’ll know exactly where to go for a good meal. So, where to eat? Loch Lomond restaurants and my top 5:

1. The Oak Tree Inn

The Oak Tree Inn is in prime position for two reasons. The first being its local stardom for its fantastic hearty food and beautiful location in Balmaha right on the banks of Loch Lomond. The second is its proximity to one of my favourite holiday lodges. The luxury Loch Lomond Waterfront Lodges. Perfect for lunch or a laid back dinner within walking distance from these amazing Loch Lomond holiday lodges. The ideal spot for both indoor or outdoor dining for “posh” pub grub. The only worry is it’s so busy you might not get a table, so plan ahead.

2. The Duck Bay Marina

The Duck Bay Marina is set at the other side of Loch Lomond, near Dunbarton. This is one of my favourite haunts to meet with friends or take tourists for a treat. It’s a delightful Loch Lomond Restaurant right on the water’s edge. It offers a little more luxury than the Oak Tree, and you are guaranteed a table as it’s so big! The only downside is you cannot eat outside, but you can enjoy a nice cold beer or glass of prosecco on the water’s edge.

3. The House of Darroch

Sister restaurant to The Duck Bay Marina. The House of Darroch is a wonderful treat if you’re looking for day time dining. Or for a good catch up over coffee and the most amazing cake!! Here you will also enjoy a little boutique shopping with some rare treats. Snug in the village of Gartocharn (one of the only places to find petrol around Loch Lomond, unless to drive to the town of Alexandria. Whilst you cannot see Loch Lomond from The House of Darroch, you are sure to be spoilt with all it has for you to explore, indulge and delight in inside. I highly recommend a stop here on your visit to Loch Lomond.

4. The Winnock

The Winnock is just down the road from Loch Lomond Waterfront holiday resort and the village of Balmaha. A 10-minute drive from the famous Devil’s Pulpit and also from the village of Gartocharn.

Set in the cute little village or Drymen (pronounced “Dr-i-men”) you will find this ancient old Scottish pub and restaurant bustling with life. Serving good pub food beside an open fire with a good old fashioned pub bar.

5. A Good Night In

I have saved my most favourite place to eat on Loch Lomond for last! A good night in with mum’s cooking and all the family around the table at Loch Lomond Waterfront’s lodges. If we holiday on Loch Lomond this is where we come. Huge 5-star cabins, lodges and chalets right on the banks of Loch Lomond at the foot of Conic Hill. This is one of the only 5-star holiday locations actually on the water’s edge. The only other is Cameron House on the other side of the loch, which is lovely, but not quite as scenic. Be careful when booking as quite a few places say they have 5 stars, or on the banks, but are not.

Happy travels and dining around the Loch. I hope you enjoy Loch Lomond as much as I do!
