Hey Bear Baby Sensory Videos

If you have a baby that won’t settle, not even long enough for you to think, then you need to read this blog RIGHT NOW! Behold, ladies and gentlemen, for I, Harry, and the bearer of bears. And this blog is about to save your sanity.

A crying baby red in the face
A familiar scene at your house?

Hey, Bear with me

You might be wondering why I keep using the word “bear” in weird pun-like ways. I’m glad you asked, because that’s the whole point of this blog.

There’s a YouTube channel called Hey Bear. It’s one of these ones where if you know, you know, and if you don’t know, you should. I’m acting like I always knew about it, but I only found out about these sensory videos last month but they have changed everything…

It’s a calming, almost meditative channel designed for babies who otherwise just won’t quit with the rage. It’s sensory, with bright colours and rhythmic tunes that are actually pretty good.

Our favourite Hey Bear video is the dancing pineapple. He winks at you and is delighted to be here. He dances on a black background and no kidding, our youngest is engrossed with it. Without fail, it calms him down and let’s one of us make a coffee.

Screen time not to feel guilty about

So don’t worry about the idea of plonking your little one in front of the TV babysitter. It’s not like that at all. You’d be daft not to use all the resources available to you, and for an odd twenty minutes here or there, it’s an absolute delight. It’s a sensory video, which makes it even better and less guilt-ridden as baby is getting something out of it. It’s not rotting anyone’s brains.

Sometimes all you need is to calm the little ‘un down. Hugs, food, songs – all of this can work. But when it doesn’t, there’s good old Hey Bear. Go on – give it a try! This video is our favourite. Say hello to Mr. Pineapple!

Time for you

The one thing I’ve learned since becoming a Dad is that it’s really important to make time for yourself and, if you have one, your partner. How can you be expected to look after a little one if you aren’t looking after yourself? So you need to shower, you need to eat well, and you need those fifteen minutes on Facebook to see how terrible everyone else’s lives are, right? This remains important even as your child grows and develops, and using a video channel like Hey Bear really helps to do this.

And another video we really like is this anxiety and stress relief one. Believe me – it’s not just babies this works on either!

Give it a shot, if you are struggling with noise levels and rage, then I’m pretty sure you will thank me after ten seconds of Hey Bear and a happy Mr. Pineapple!
